Community asked to complete survey on behalf of Forres Skate Park Initiative

A STRATEGIC, management and project consultant wants the community to voice opinion on a skate park for the town.

Alan Jones Associates has been hired by Forres Skate Park Initiative (FSPI) to put together a business plan, feasibility and option appraisal for the project – https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/forresskatepark is the first step towards achieving these aims.

Mr Jones confirmed the survey focuses on community consultation that will reveal evidence for need and support.

He said: “The survey questions are about four potential site options at Mannachie, Roysvale, Grant Park and Bogton. The template scoring criteria for the appraisal includes site size, topography, burdens or potential problems, and existing uses.

“Once the survey is done we will analyse the results, write them up and see if the project is viable.”

FSPI used £9000 from the Berry Burn Community Fund for the appraisal. Chairman Shaun Moat has applied to a number of other funders to raise £7000 for preparation of a five year business plan.

He said: “The Berry Burn award covers the site options appraisal, a soil and land survey and the feasibility study. We have applied to Tesco and other funders for the remaining support.

“We urge members of the public to fill out the survey as the more responses we get, the better to prove a need to funding.”
